Miley Ray Cyrus's actual name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. Born on November 23rd 1993, in Franklin Tennessee the state of Tennessee, she was raised in Thompson's Station Tennessee by Tish Cyrus. Her siblings include two half-brothers and half sisters, along with a younger brother, sister and a half-sister. Her parents chose her name because they hoped that she would attain the heights of success. The nickname she was given in her childhood, Smiley, due to her cheerful disposition, was eventually shortened to Miley. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician grandfather. Cyrus went to Heritage Elementary School, Tennessee. Her family relocated from Tennessee Toronto Canada when she was eight years old, and Billy Ray Cyrus took on an appearance in Doc (2001) as a lead on in the TV show. It was around this time when Cyrus decided she wanted to act as well. Her father was the lead in Doc (2001). Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), where she starred in a smaller role as a child, also had a great success. Cyrus was chosen in 2005 to be the lead of the Disney TV show Hannah Montana, which is the story of a teenage girl who has in a double life. Her father also was on the show with her. The show was a smash and hit records tour sell-outs and deals with merchandising soon followed. Cyrus rapidly became a cult figure in the eyes of teens. Cyrus started to play other roles following her success in the film Hannah Montana (2006). This included roles as Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song 2010, 2010) and Lola (in LOL (2012)), alongside Demi Moor.
